Plastic Sheeting/Tubing/Bags
Norville Industries stocks a wide variety of clear polyethylene sheeting, tubing and pre-formed bags to meet your size, strength and thickness requirements.
Different resins can be used in the plastic manufacturing process to get the desired results you need. A good attribute of polyethylene is that it can be recycled.
Norville’s High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Sheeting can be used in various industries. Sheeting is weather resistant, economical and tough. Our sheeting can be produced in various colors, sizes, mil thicknesses, finishes and is also printable. Norville stocks both single wound and center fold sheeting.
Norville also carries multilayered sheeting. This co-extruded high slip sheeting has two outside layers made of high density resin and the center layer from ultra linear resin. This product is very desirable where puncture resistance is needed.
Norville’s Poly Tubing is made from low density, linear low density and high density polyethylene films. Tubing comes in many widths and mils. One of the advantages to using poly tubing is that it eliminates the need for stocking a large variety of bag sizes. You can measure the amount of tubing needed, then cut and seal it. Sealing can be done with a heat sealer or a twist tie, both of which Norville offers.
Poly Bags are manufactured from seamless poly tubing and sealed along the bottom of the bag. These bags can be used many different ways – from small trash bags to large pallet covers. The bag opening along the width dimension can be twist tied, heat sealed or taped shut.
These poly bags can be clear or printed on two sides. The individual bags can be flat or gusseted. Bags can be stacked in a box, on a roll or packaged on a header board.
FORMULAS:
SHEETING:
POUNDS/ PER MYD = WIDTH x MIL x 2.4 (FOR CENTERFOLD) x 1.02 FOR PIGMENT
POUNDS/PER MYD = WIDTH x MIL x 1.2 (FOR SINGLE WOUND) x 1.02 FOR PIGMENT
POUNDS/ROLL = .4 x WIDTH x GAUGE x FEET PER ROLL
TUBING:
POUNDS/PER M LINEAR FEET = .8 x LAY FLAT WIDTH x MIL
SIZE NEEDED: DIAMETER x 3.14(π) = CIRCUMFERENCE : CIRCUMFERENCE ÷ 2 = LAY FLAT SIZE
BAGS:
POUNDS/PER M BAGS = (WIDTH x LENGTH x MIL) ÷ 15
POUNDS/PER M GUSSETTED BAGS = [(WIDTH + GUSSET) x LENGTH x MIL] ÷ 15
